♥️ 4 years ago, VentureBeat took a chance on me. They flew me to SF to speak! Today, I'm an influencer... but not back then, friend! I was a PhD candidate with a very active Twitter account and big dreams 🌙

🎙️ When VentureBeat's team invited me to speak in 2019, Women in Voice was just a few months old. ✈️ I nervously got on the plane and NETWORKED my heart out 🚀 I nabbed all the swag, followed up with EVERY business card, and reveled in what was happening 👀 🧠

🥰 That opportunity skyrocked my career, Women in Voice's global reach 🌎 🌍 🌏 , and directly helped me land me my next job. With multiple offers, I negotiated confidently and signed a job that paid 52% higher in base salary than my previous job 🔥

♥️ All of these nostalgic thoughts and emotions washed through me last week

Last week, in these photos from 2023, I spoke at the VB Transform conference in San Francisco. It felt like a time warp! I've grown a lot, personally and professionally

💫 It was a full circle moment to get to share the stage with the formidable Desirée Gosby of Walmart Global Tech Emerging Tech team. As the Founder and President of Women in Voice (but not the operating CEO anymore!), I got to be on stage with a phenomenal leader‌ doing the work for #NLP #AI#ConversationalAI for enterprise. Millions of people use the product she and her team work on. It's darn impressive

💞 Feeling deeply grateful to the VentureBeat team for these opportunities. It means so much to me and the communities I'm part of. The conference was full of amazing content (Writer especially). Strong networking (Amelia Mink, Chelsie Hall, Marlinda Galapon, Zaheer Ali, Shirley Lin, Mahsa Ghafarianzadeh, Xinyu Cindy Xu, Allison Mickelson, and many more) . Fascinating people. What a great conference. Can't wait for the next one!
