HONORS THESIS: French Language Acquisition, Bajorek (2013)
French educators, students and enthusiasts alike question what it means to learn the French language. As a preeminent language spoken worldwide, rarely is the act of learning the language itself the focal point of study. This study asks the question: What are the implications of learning the French language? From an American, foreign-language perspective, learning French has greater implication than the memorization of new words. This investigation surveys three lines of inquiry underlying French language acquisition: language cognition, French cultural identity and acculturation.
